I think this is the most beautiful fall foliage scene i've ever seen in my life (and I've seen many). I think it fits the challenge perfectly, because the beauty of this scene depended on so many things which came together and could be so easily spoiled - a perfect weather, a perfect late afternoon sun from just the right side of the lake, no wind, absolutely mirror-like water. In fct, the scene was about to be spoiled somewhat, since I stepped on a small wooden deck at the edge of the deck and created a small wave which can be seen at the bottom, and eventually overcame the whole lake (it did die down in a few minutes, but the light was already different). Taken on a roadtrip from Boston to Williamstown to Vermont last weekend.
In postprocessing just a slight cropping, slight saturation increase, and a little bit of sharpening.

Beautiful landscape. The colors here are stunning and the tranquility of the water just makes it so delicate. As I'm looking at it I almost wish someone would skip a rock into the water just to make more ripples.
Its hard to improve on something this beautiful but I'm thinking a little more light on the sides so the trees weren't so shadowed would improve it but thats even questionable.
