I experimented with different lighting, angles, and backdrops. I liked this one because of the patterns, the almost hexagonal shape of the background light, and the balanced framing. Unfortunately, there were some blown out highlights that became somewhat exaggerated after resizing, sigh.

cool shadows. a couple of things detract from this photo, though. i think the flowers have been sharpened too much. and the dark part at the bottom is very grainy. also, there are a couple of artifacts at the top of the shot that take away from the pure black background. overall, a good concept and a decent shot.
Very neat photo... one I keep coming back to. Really like the colors. Well composed, very crisp, though the flowers themselves are a bit overexposed. All in all very well done!

Very pretty. I know it's difficult, but some of the branches are burned out a bit. I've been having trouble also getting acceptable sharpness with highly detailed subjects like yours after I've compressed them for the competition. Finall I had to use my back-up photo.
