I tried a few shots with lighting on one side only. It left the other side of my face in total blackness. I got a second, smaller light to provide some minimal shadow detail on the left side. I imagine people won't like how dark one side of my face is... that's OK. I had to try to hold still for a fairly slow shutter speed, hence the stiff, serious look. Not what I meant, but it's what I got!!

Nice shot, but I find because of the slight angle of the head, that the shadow across the top doesn't look quite right. Maybe I would have lowered the light or change the angle a little, to get a nice symmetrical shadow
I think putting "LOL" in conversation is sometimes tolerable, but putting it in the title of a photo is always a bad idea. = ) The idea of an overtly over-serious shot isn't bad though, and I like the look you chose to convey that.
