Taken from the roof of the building where I am currently working overlooking the eastern face slopes at Snowshoe, WV. I tell yah, this place is not fun to work, but man, it is spectacularly beautiful. I took numerous photos that day, and the roof is a good place to take them from. However, this day it was horribly windy, so the roof was a bit treacherous to say the least. Sure, it's only a fifty foot fall to the ground...don't be a wuss. I didn't have my tripod with me, so the camera was sitting on top of a roof-top air handling unit, and I was worried that the wind would knock it off...fortunately, both I and my camera survived unscathed.
I did very little post processing here outside of rotation, cropping (the picture is slightly larger thanks to a converter I was using on my P&S that makes it 14mm instead of 28mm), and some contrast & saturation work. This is pretty much how it looked out of the camera. Since I'm working here and not at home, I don't have access to all of the wonderous features of Photoshop, simply IrfanView.
This is another shot submitted in color by me...hopefully this will do better than the last few.
