Perhaps its the curse of AF lens, but so many photos show soft focus when the subject is off center. You got your idea across, just technically limited to a 6
This has more of a snapshot feel. A solid background would help. With this shot I would have cropped next to the stove. Also, the utensils are more in focus than she and the cake are.
