Wow, this is my first challenge entry and the first time I used my new camera. I am pretty new to this hobby but this seals it.....I'm hooked. I had planned out a completely different idea but it just didn't come out the way I wanted. My original idea was a bit cluttered so at the last minute I decided to go with a simple set up.

Great photo. I'm trying to get some flaws for you but you made it difficult. The only thing I can think of is maybe adding a little more room on the left but thats pretty minor.
A very nice color combination and the flower is clean and crisp. No blurry's or startling bright light. This would be more appealing if more orange was above the flower rather than beside. The lines direct the viewers eye up and down but all that empty space at the right has nothing else to look at. I think if the right portion was cropped and more was added to the top it would score much higher. Overall you did a good job with the phot just the layout needs a bit of work Congrats and good luck
A nice aqua blue 'mum' flower on a bright orange bamboo mat attracts the eye. I like that this composition has some shapes represented in the lines of the bamboo. It adds some interest to this still life composition.
