I think we can definately hear the sound in this shot.
I was thinking though, that when people are screaming at the top of their lungs, they don't usually have their eyes open, but I do see that her fists are cleched, which is another 'stereotype' of screaming at the top of your lungs.
Something that is bothering me in this shot, and I just can't seem to shake it off, is that her right eye (our left) is more in focus than the other one. I don't think anyone else mentioned this, so maybe it's just something that bothers me only, but I do find it a bit strange. Even that eyebrow is sharper focus than the other one.
I do really like the way it makes her hair look. Flipping out like you'd see in the cartoons with their hair all standing out on end, but here it's the angle that makes it look dramatic.
I personally like the extra room on the left of the shot. She's not all centered perfectly, and I think that goes well with the dramatic from above angle.
Lighting appears to have been just great for this shot.

LOL, what a great shot. This is very cool, with the perfect focus on the face and excellent, neutral background. Great perspective on the subject also. 8.
Good angle! She looks amused -- I would have guessed laughing or playful yelling if not for the title, although I suppose one can have a playful scream -- but that's fine, it still evokes the concept of sound.
10 for concept, 8 for execution: 9 overall. :-> A little more softness in the contrast/lighting might well have pumped it a bit higher, but still, very good. I hear the photo (which is my major grading criteria for this contest), and it's an appealing image overall. It seems a little burnt out/overexposed on her face. This was something I'd thought to do, but I couldn't find anyone willing to scream for me on camera, so I had to go with something else! Good DOF.
I think i've seen this model before. i believe it was a norwegian, no? scandinavian? well, this is a nice photo even if im wrong. interesting perspective and pose. i am curious about what she is screaming about. cat stuck in a tree about to fall???
