 It is my 50th birthday today and so I thought of getting this photo of my Japanese birthday cake into the contest at the last moment. I asked the lady at the cake shop for 50 candles (free service) but she freaked out...

Yes, this is what they call "voters see the photo, but don't have your emotional background". Don't put us this way next time, because I'm not feeling good of critiquing somebody's great aniversary cake :(

Not sure whether to look at the bright burning candles or the bubble wrap...

I really just don't like it. The bubble wrap looks dirty, and the cake has nothing to do with the contest. The challenge is about bubbles so that should be your main focus.
