Sorry everyone, "Basic" mistake I just didn't reallise it was a Basic editing challenge. Just didn't look at the rules before I entered if it was Basic or Advanced, I just made the photo as I most often do, used one layer in screen mode and one on top of that in soft light mode.
It is very frustrating to loose my first ribbon, because of this "basic" mistake, and I'll bet you that this wont ever happen again. I'll be back :)
But to me the main thing is that all of you seemed to have liked the photo, and I am really happy about that. Thank you everyone.
Fín mynd, fagmannlega unnin. Þú nærð svo vel að fanga glettnina í augnablikinu. Það gefur henni mikla hlýju í samræmi við brúna tóninn. Borðinn fyllilega verðskuldaður. Ein af eftirlætismyndum mínum keppninni. Til hamingju!
Absolutely adorable. Fantastic lighting, great expression. I love the texture of the tub and the way its tones can be found in the shadows on the baby's skin. There are a few areas where the skin looks a bit plastic-y/wonky focus which is distracting (particularly on the right side near the diaper) but for the most part it is just perfect. I gave an 8.
when you do something as predictable as a baby in bath with bubbles, you better have some original take on it and do it well. You've managed to do both, so congrats for that, but I suspect that many voters are by now tired of the whole concept, so that might cost you a few points. I, however, like this take, the kid seems to enjoy the bubblefun.
best of luck. /8
Looks like he's having a great time (full diaper & all). I like the expression, lighting, good focus, good shutter speed (e.g, right hand showing motion) , overall excellent job
SO CUTE! The filtration is perfect. The tub makes the shot. I'm so used to looking at rule of thirds, I had to adjust my way of thinking and this is AWESOME> Perfect contrast and lighting as well. His pure delight is just wonderful. 10
awww very cute... three small criticisms... 1. was there a bubble above the baby? I think it would have been better not to crop that one out so we could see what he/she was reaching for. 2. the picture feels a little tipped to me (left side seems higher than right). 3. a crop with the baby more to one side or the other might have been better. Overall a great picture, though. I like the coloring.
You've captured the joy that babies bring into the world. Although I wouldn't recommend posing the child nude the contemporary diaper does not quite work with the sepia tone, however I still gave it a 10.
love it! the only thing that would have made it better would be if you could see the bubble the kid was reaching for. I love the experession on his face. Great photo!
This is an adorable and sweet capture! The expression on the child's face is so exuberant and so full of fun and laughter that one cannot help but to smile as they view this photo. The black background is the perfect backdrop for this image for the viewer really gets to see the bubbles without them being 'lost' in a background with too many distracting object. Not to mention the the choice of a black background makes the bubbles pop out more than a white one would. The only critique I have on this shot is that I think if you had included more space in the upper half of the photo to accomendate a possible bubble that is just out of reach of this child. He/she seems to be reaching for a bubble that is not shown in the frame. If that bubble was included in the frame it would have established a even stronger connection of bubble play between the child and the bubbles floating around him/her.
