This was an idea i got out of the blue for the challenge... the difficult parts were to find a gas mask ($16 from army-navy supply store) and getting my housemate to wear it (priceless...)
Oh and the lighting was tricky :-)
The neon green sign was something i found one the side of the road once and have kept it ever since. I feel it adds to the already bizarre shot.
The shot is an open narrative, there is no right or wrong interpretation or meaning. Prize to anyone who comes up with the best storyline for the shot!

This is a prefect sinister image. This really took some vision, and I think it was very well rewarded by the top 10 finish, congrats! My favorite part of this shot is the lighting, I am so glad you spent the time on it. What an awesome roommate you have, I am sure it won't be the last time we see him. I also really like the fade to dark on the bottom. Overall this photo is just excellent. Great job on nailing the theme. I wish there was more I could say but good job!
This is a secret agent named 'Malelipshoax' that was poisoned over 9 years ago by the evil Dr. Nico on the top of a mountain outside the Dr's secret base. Mustard gas was fired and seeped into his lungs and eyes, destroying them. He saved himself at the last moment by using the street sign in the picture to surf down the mountain to safety. Now, this agent must wear this specifically designed gas mask to be able to bear even the darkest of nights. Malelipshoax proudly displays his escape-sign outisde the secret base, hoping that Dr. Nico will notice it and battle him again, except this time Malelipshoax is not effected by the evil Dr's nasty gas tricks.
I like the use of the arrow on the sign in the background. Good lighting. Compared to others in the challenge it doesn't make me think of conspiracy right away, but I like it.
