I like this shot, but to meet the challenge I think the kids should have stood closer together and been on a 1/3 line.

There doesn't seem to be anything interesting in the intersections. The context is sad and mysterious almost mournful in a way when the context should be fun and happy. Try going for the fun and happy colorful look next time.
