This is just a snap i took of my father in law this afternoon while he was watching my kittens play.
I don't expect it to do well - since it is nothing more than a snapshot, i just felt like entering a photo of someone other than myself!
LINMU is over - enough with the self portraits already!!
Also - i am looking forward to people saying - thats an old man, your title says junior, thats a stupid title. Everyone calles my FiL June or Junior - even me- thats his name, suck it up!!

Don't complain, Elli. Submit stuff like this & very few people will tolerate it. Your work is usually balanced on the edge of reason, so it's not surprising that for many viewers much of it topples over to the 'wrong' side! Still my equal favourite.
Not sure why, but the car is too distracting to me and doesn't seem to fit with the portrait of this man. I like the side lighting and the expression as well as the out of focus background. perhaps a tighter crop nearer to his face?
Great shot, I really like the composition... the choice to desat the greens is good, one small thing is that the sunlight is pretty harsh on his features. 9.
This is a terrific portrait, much stronger than the many more technically onanistic entries. The man's body language and facial expression create an irresistible tension and command the viewer's emotional involvement in the photograph. There's a definite feeling of loss and quiet despair about it. The composition is casual and uncompromising, and the decision to not crop out the car was inspired. I also applaud your processing choices (or I should say lack of them). Alas, I suppose it will be overlooked among the dross. 10.
This is a good character study. I like the lighting, and the pose. i don't feel the car is adding any value to the overall feel of the photo and therefore should have been left out.
I would like to see his face closer, and not in the sun so he wouldn't have to squint and there would be less shadows. I am not sure why the car is part of the background, but if it is important to him more of it should be showing.
