So. My first entry. Taken with the kit tube. I can't believe how much it sucks. I mean.. just look at the bottom right corner. Otherwise it's a nice sharp lens when stopped to f/8, but the one corner!
Just bought a circular polariser a few days back. Nice little gadget. Does wonders to sky and foliage.
This shot will probably get hammered. Oh well...

-Massive USM. The shot was for some reason VERY out of focus, but sadly was the best shot in the batch.
-No cropping.

I am assuming you used a polarizer for this shot which has darkened the sky and the shadows a bit too much for my liking. The top right darkness keeps drawing my eye away from the scene. Also lacks focus.
It looks like you are going with the rule of thirds, but IMHO the sky overwhelms the rest of the picture. Or maybe it's that the sky is so dark in comparison with the rest of the picture. It just bothers me. I didn't mark you down much for that, because basically I like the picture.
