A very strong visual with a lovely sun burst. magnificent. Congratulations on your top 20 finish.

I too am staggered at this phot's lowly rating. The movement and flow in this is tangible - so impactful and I bet, as a large format print, this is just breathtaking. I often look up to the canopy and think I see this kind of thing, but rarely capture it. You have.

I really do like this one. The twisted darkness of the branches reaching out for the light really does it for me :) I'm sure you'll get "blown out" comments, but for this image I personally think it really works well. 7

I feel upside down in this shot... even if it's right-side up. The sun looks a bit hot, so a polarizer/ND filter may have helped.

nice shot right into the sun. Really emphasizes the protective quality of this amazing tree. Well done!

I feel this would have worked better in color - some of the depth seems missing in the b+w

8 - This is very nice. Criticism; Whilst I like the light shining through it is either too bright and thus detracting from the main subject, in my opinion, or else a different crop, cropping out half of the 'sunlight', may have made this a better shot. Like the toning, but the capture of the branches and the angle is what I like the best about this shot. 'Feels' like you are under an old and stately tree.

love the tree and the coloring with the border to set it off, didn't like the sun spot

This is the best shot I have seen of actual tree branches. I love that there is enough contrast to make the branches stand out. My only subtraction is for the area of white--it is distracting to me.

Great pic though the bright spot is distracting. The branches should be eerie-looking, but it's not, must be the light background. Nice.

Nice angle and viewpoint. I like the darkened shadow branches. The sun seems a bit too bright, but a nice photo overall.

I'm curious to understand you choice for the orientation of this photo. I like the shot, but I can't help feeling it is a stronger image flipped horizontally.
