For me, your background is too grey and muted, although your vase has contrast. I wonder if cropping it in more from the left hand side, making the object off-centered, would help?

High contrast is achieved by combining red/cyan OR (deep)blue/yellow OR green/magenta OR for the ultimate high contrast, black/white. Yours is a mix of black with several mid order grays and very little white.
