I really like this picture too. Excellent work with the post processing. I actually noticed the same thing pawdrix commented on, the people sitting there peacefully against the threatening atomosphere. It might be cool if you could present the clouds in such a way that is looks like they are sneaking up on the people, foreshadowing the storm instead of having it already arrived.
This offers so much visually. I love the tonality of it. The leading line is done so well. The overall composition is great. I like the pink/violet touch on the sky!! Very nicely executed.
In the post processing I wanted it to first look like a standard B&W, which are often tinted slightly blue, but with a red sky to make it look more ominous. After looking at it on my mum's computer (LCD screen rather than CRT) it does look a bit brown and weird. I'll have to have a play around with it. Thanks for the comment :)
Interesting post-processing to create some drama--but maybe you went a bit too far. The sky is brownish while the rest carries a blue cast...just feels off to me.
Love the deep perspective. And it certainly looks like a "typical" NYC scene...Looking forward to seeing more!
