You need to check your white balance on your camera. The button/menu on your camera will be marked WB. This incorrect setting has also messed up your exposure, blowing out the shorts.

I have to say that I would have liked this shot a whole lot more if you had used a cooler WB as I don´t really care for the yellow toning but the composition is pretty good. 5 from me.

Great idea, and the glowing yellow makes you really feel the overpowering heat. But wish more legs were visible, this barely qualifies as a herd!
