Literally a 2 minute photoshoot, went to the golf course, no one was there, was setting up the shoes and suddenly 4 golfers are behind me threatening to hit me with the golf balls lol.
*Post*
WOW! thanks everyone!!! I never expected the blue :)...ohhh thanks to my great friend and model! ;)
This image for some reason reminded me of the song "I want to break free" by Queen, so thats where the title came from (yes the song was stuck in my head for a couple days) :)

Man, how did I manage to miss your work before your recent forum posts?! Absolutely bitchin' photo! The composition is perfect and makes great use of negative space. Bravo!
I love the composition and action seen and felt in this shot. The model was captured perfectly - one bar foot in the vibrant, crisp inviting grass and the other raised as she runs free. Her hair is unbound too and it too bounces with freedom as she runs through the open fields leaving those confining and uncomfortable high heel shoes behind. Freedom to run, freedom to feel the cool and comforting grass beneath ones feet - FREE!
Hey Justin: congratulations on your well deserved Blue. This is a home run knocked clearly out of the park. The concept sings out its message with a beautiful composition and vista. Way to go.
I didn't get to see this while voting, but let me add to the chorus of praise: you created a great picture & definitely deserve to be at the top. Congratulations!
Lovely shot. Strong vibrant colours and interesting subject matter. Some areas of grass appear a little smudged (was this from cloning?). Some nice clouds to add interest to the sky without being distracting. Congrats on winning this challenge. >>well played for taking the shot despite the golfers threats<<
The photo says so much! And the explanation of the situation during shooting is hilarious, argghh what we photographers have to suffer LOL. Congratulations! Really a nice happy photo..
BTW, the best way to deal with golfers is to unplug their golf carts and break into a loose jog. Most golfers are anti-activity (which is the heart of the game), so won't be able to keep up.
I knew you couldn't dodge the ribbons much longer... you're too darn good. Congratulations on your well-deserved blue with this perfectly executed concept!
What a beautiful shot. I love the colors, the composition, the sharpness, the hair flying in the wind... And also the title :) Well done and good luck! 10
Finally, after what seems like 100 3's and 4's, a really good photo! Composition is excellent, you captured your model at a great moment, and the high saturation works welll with the simple scene. Would be a 10 if not for the artifact along the horizon (slightly excessive sharpening?), and the slightly funky sky (too much messing with curves?). 9
there was another photo on the entry with similar idea, but using a beach instead. however, i liked this one better due to the colours and the movement on the model. a sense of freedom. a 10.
Very professionally setup and executed. Nice shoe shadows on the fairway. The only thing that bothers me - it seems...hmmm...kind of stereotypical of the beautiful woman running up a hill - but it's still quite...pretty.
Wow! You know, I'm not a fan of just giving comments to say "I like it" but this is really fantastic. Everything is right. Welcome to my favorites. Good luck on your ribbon!
I just viewed another shot taken at sunset at the beach and this photo is much better. Maybe its the sexy woman but this shot seems more precise and in focus . good job.
Nice shot. The lighting really helps to add to the concept of breaking free... I also really like the shadows of the clouds. I do wish it was more in focus, though. Also, I find the corner of the building rather distracting.
(personal note)Golf course greens are a great backdrop for a photo(/personal note).
I like the greath depth, the composition, the tonal range and what especially works here, the true colors. There's also this fictional (male thing?) line between the shoes and the girl. Like "Hey where did that chick go!? O there she is!"
This photo to me stands way above the rest. The colors, placement of the shoes and girl in the frame is great. The only thing I can complain about is the sky could be a little more blue, but don't pay attention to that. Best of Luck, I really hope you win this thing. My only 10 in this challenge.
i really like this photo. cool shadows made from the shoes, i like how you can see the grass in so much detail. i love how the girl is running away yet she is in focus. very cool shot.
Like the creation of an image that represents a moment in time, a mini-story in her day/ life. It conveys universal longings, universal emotions, universal solutions. Lovely colours in grass and sky, beautifully exposed, nicely composed. Excellent!
The grass is almost too perfect. Very bright, happy picture, very close to corny-ness. But I like it nonetheless. If only the shoes didn't look so clunky.
Tralalallalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala shoes.
your on a golf course.........it would be the best with just the high heals n the grass and maybe her shadow,,,,too much open space yo
Nice idea, love the composition. Too bad this is a basic editing challenge as I bet you would have darkened the sky if you had the chance, I know I would as it´s the low point of the shot IMHO. 7 from me.
fantastic image, just feel the sky could do with a touch more saturation/darkness, just seems to distract my eye a bit - you deserve a ribbon, great shot - 10
