Hokie Did you ever post a response to the questions below about how you achieved this? I'd be interested in such. Kavey

This looks like it was manipulated beyond the boundries of the rules, but it is a great image, and I do not think there are any rules for photography.

Filtered or what? I thought the rules were clear....

If this photo isn't altered, you're going to need to do a "how'd they do that?" to show us how you got this effect.

wonderful and strange. i feel like i am looking through part of this through one of those simi-translucent shower doors. but the contrasts and lighting, great DOF and interesting subject make this awesome.

Thats cool looking, great shades of grey.

The more times I view this the more I like it. Very interested to hear about the texture at the bottom. I really like the contrast here.

Wow! I can't wait to hear how this was done.

I don't understand how it's done, but I like it.

This is a very cool photo. What is that white stuff? It looks like the stencils are imbedded in backlit ice!

I'm really not sure what I'm looking at, but it's pretty interesting.

I'm not sure what these are, but the photo is very delicate and beautiful.

Are those "drawing" templates? I was wondering if anyone would use a theme akin to "the answer's right there in black and white..: thanks for doing it so I didn't have to... The bottom part has a jaggy or crystalline look -- I wasn't sure if it was a sharpening effect or a JPEG compression artifact -- it doesn't affect my score, but I was curious.

I like this photo quite a bit but I can't figure out the effect and how it was achieved... maybe there is an explanation in the description... nice shot!

Good composition, interesting subject, and good contrast.

Wow. I'd love to see the how-to on this one. It's pretty amazing, but I'd like to see more DOF so that JOY could be in focus.

Interesting mirror work. Don't know how well a neutral subject like that works against such a contrasty background. Tape shows at bottom.

This shot is so well composed, I keep coming back to it, and thinking to myself 'wow'! Very good shot.

Great shot. I love (what I think is) the reflection and how it is slightly blurred. Really creative shot.

Very cool. It is hard to make out what this exactly is, and where one piece starts and ends, and what is reflection or real. Very surreal. Love it.
