This photo was taken in the Presidential Palace in Bangkok, Thailand. In Theravadan Buddhism, every man must become a monk for part of his life. Monk’s expressions often went from solemn (as in the picture) to jovial in a matter of seconds, in my opinion typifying the dualism that has become modern day Thailand.
