Good question, Gordon. Originally, I wanted the green kiss on the apple, but I couldn't get the rubber stamp to work on it, and I didn't want to put green lipstick on! I suppose I went with green lips on red apple just because it was a bit different in the wacky world I wanted to create with the photo. I also really wanted to see the bite well, and with a bright green apple, it wouldn't have been so obvious.
Congratulations on the win - what was the thinking behind the green lipstick/ red apple - rather than the perhaps more obvious inverse ? Or was it just that you wanted something less obvious/ more jarring ?
One of my favourites this week. Great composition and the colors are perfect. So is focus and the cropping. Perhaps I had mede it a little darker but that would probably had spoiled the white background. Meets the challenge very well. Well done and good luck!
Huh. That's... different. Well, you certainly do use complementary colours, and I suppose that it's a good picture in general, but I'm still not quite sure what I really think of it.
I like this photo alot, i think it will definetley be among the winners, but maybe a different background, not the lipstick, the white, but i like it, = 8
Very cool. Lighting is nice, and great job making the "kisses" gradually get smaller. The one thing is maybe make the bite in the apple look better (bigger, more defined, etc.).
Very unique set up and composition. The green and red colors are vivid and do well to meet the challenge. Green lipstick seems to be a little bit of a turn-off, but the symbolism is too stronge to ignore. Great Job 10...one of my favorites. Good luck in the challenge.
very nice job with composition and lighting. the "line" you created with the lips is quite strong and leads the viewer to the upper right corner of the photo, for better or worse. nice job...7
I have seen stuff like this before; yet, it's fun. Nice composition. That apple looks so good that i'm very tempted to take a bit from it as well. Very clean image. I like square presentations! 8
This is a really neat shot... I think I like the backwards theme here... most probably would have approached this idea with a green apple and red lip prints... I think the little reversal of that... nice use of imagery and excellent story telling in this photo... minor detail: Maybe just a tad more space between the apple and the closest kiss... great work... = 10
I like the artistic nature of this shot. Your tones and lighting are very well done. Something seems offbalanced with the shot. May want to play with different camera angles and position of apple in relationship to the kisses. Still very well done! 8 -danny
