A bolt of lightning from the most ferocious storm I've ever witnessed. Strikes were at least as frequent as two bolts per second and I discovered later in the evening that the storm brought down a light plane killing both people on board.
This phenomenon lasted for 5 hours and delivered an estimated 20,000 lightning strikes. I took dozens of shots of it but have run out of portfolio space here.
