Cheryl, I had no idea this was yours! I loved it! It was one of my favorites in the challenge!!! It is so nice to see you back here! I'm so sorry it didn't get the score it deserved!! It's awesome!!!!
I think a heavier sprinkler would have made this shot even better. At times when the sprinkler is turned just right you can actually create a rainbow with the water.
-edit: Clearly this is not rain. Also, I envy you for living in a place where the weather is mostly beautiful. The weather where I live is mostly crap, but my wife won't live anywhere more than 20km from her family. Oh well, I love her family a lot too. I do like the stopped action of this shot, great expression on the boy's face too. I think your shot would be improved by cropping at the right where his arm meets the blue. i don't think that part of the Slip 'n Slide adds anything to the photo, and the crop would get you closer to the action.
I feel ya. No rain in SoCal for months. This one looks like an ad for Wham-o. Those years summer used to mean more than it does now. Maybe that's just me. Nice capture.
No probs with this meeting the challenge, but it does look like a snapshot however. Bad glare from sun without any diffusion, and no thought about background. Subject is dead centre which is not the most imaginative placement.
great shot...thank you for thinking outside the box and even though it looks like you didnt get rain you still played the game.. 10 from me for getting in and doing it... and it looks like it was fun.....
WHEEE Love his expression!!! I think I'd crop out the words and we'd still know what he was doing and it would put more concentration on his face. Great light and stop action.
