Yes, I really do know how to spell "Rendezvous." somehow I get caught in the end of the alphabet on that word.
This image was taken at the "Festival of the American West" which has been held for many years in Logan, Utah and now is a few miles away in Wellsville. The front teepee belongs to my father, who painted the design based on a dream. The canvas teeppee are in keeping for the trapper period of 1865 - 18880. Material (fabric) was being traded and used. American flags were used by trappers and natives alike, as were other military items.

I would have liked this a lot more if there were more contrast in the foreground. However, I understand that since this was a basic editing challenge, increasing the contrast of the entire image may have blown out the sky too much.
Good job Becky on your top 50 finish! I didn't get around to commenting on this during the challenge; I gave you an 8 during voting though. ;-) I love the sepia tones here, and the lines that you captured draw your eye into the shot. Sun rise is a tad burned out.
4 - Again the quandry, but it's a game and there are rules/guidelines. Definitely a 7 with just the year. And yes, a photo of this put into a time capsule would depict this era for future generations. I like the sepia(?), especially to tie in with the year/era, but I still wonder how well the color would have worked, especially as it likely brought the mountains into play more. edit:typos
This is a great composition and a wonderful idea for this challenge. My suggestion (and keep in mind I'm only learning about B&W/Sepia myself) would be to have something almost pitch black and something as white as it comes. With two-tone images, anything with both of these will add a lot to your score - and to the overall image.
I like the feel of this photo. The colour tones make it feel like an old time shot. Composition is okay and the graduated light is cool. Fits in the challenge. Good job.
Great idea, a bit too dark for my liking and to-days tee pees are all canvas sewn together with commercial sewing machines unlike the real 1865 one. (animal hides/usually buffalo)
