Challenge:Time Capsule (Basic Editing III) Camera:Canon PowerShot G6 Location: Big Bend National Park, Texas Date: Aug 3, 2005 Aperture: f/4.0 Shutter: 1/1250 sec. Date Uploaded: Aug 6, 2005
I captured this moment in time while driving through Big Bend National Park about an hour before dusk on my way to a pot luck supper in Terlingua. My eyes couldn't resist what was above me.

Great shot of corpuscular rays!! Looking at this from a non-challenge perspective: I like it. Maybe increase saturation a wee bit and clone out the ground on the right bottom ... and maybe a wee bit bigger frame. You have a good eye for corpuscular rays!
Sorry, but I can't see how this is representative of the year '2005' - It could be any year, and so wouldn't mean much in a time capsule. You've nicely captured the ray coming through the clouds though. Not too sure about having just a part of the land visible in the bottom corner like that. I'd say have the foreground visible all the way across to keep things in perspective.
I love the beams of light through the clouds. But, this photograph belongs in this challenge like a beautifully composed poem belongs in a corporation's annual report. There are photo competitions on the internet that allow for submitting your best photo (or a photo of your choice), however, I believe this site is prompting you to take shots that you wouldn't have otherwise by followin the description of the challenge. I hope this comment is constructive. If your photo finishes lower than you had hoped this might be the reason. I could have seen this shot with a time defining skyline. Good luck.
