Shot up through an aquarium
The "mirror" is actually the surface of the water I then "clawed" at the surface of the water to give a liquid mirror appeareance...
Post processing included
>cropping
>minor level adjustments
>cloning out of a few artifacts floating on the water surface.
I'm starting to get the hang of this photography thing and am fairly pleased with the overall appearance of the photo. The colors could be a little better, but I haven't completely got the hang of Photoshop yet.

I like this image a lot. It has that "matrix" feel to it. A little minor specks of dust and debris but nothing that takes away from the overall feel of this photo :)
LOVE this shot - scored it a 9. I seem to recall you throwing this image up for additional critique and "PS play". I also seem to recall that there was a version that increased the detail on the skin and maybe got rid of the "island" beneath the pinky - and thinking that those modifications made it perfect. Not that it was far off the mark to start with! I think this was/is not only very creative, but also very emotive. To me, this shot screams humanity. Very nice job.
The skin tones of the hands are a little put offish to me. Is it a real hand or fake? If it's real, you got some color issues. If it's fake it explains things a little. Still well done even if it needs work. Try reshooting it under different lighting and you'll get one that makes everyone go 'Wow!'

cool. tho i can guess how you did it, it really looks like your reaching out of a puddle of liquid mercury or something. Very creative and interesting.
for an illusion challange you have certainly hit the preverbial nail on its head.
I like this a lot, the colour makes this for me, its vile yet strangely compelling
Love the stillness of the water, the colour and reflection, it all works to make a great image. The small part of the hand/finger visible under the pinky finger and reflection of the thumb is the only thing that slightly distracts from the composition.
A good idea with interesting use of composition. The image feels a little soft to me though, and I think more contrast and a touch of saturation would have helped. Good luck!
Awesome shot! Very well done. The part of the hand showing that doesn't represent a finger or thumb is a little distracting, but only a very minor point. Great job.
reminds me of the matrix! must have been hard to get the reflections. Only downpoint is a rouge relefection on the left (another hand?), very original!
