A boat on the water can be a great photo with a little creativity. In my opinion, this one needs a little more interest by changing the composition to a less centered arrangement, working a little bit with the levels to boost the contrast and perhaps the color saturation, and nailing the focus just a bit more. (It may just look a little soft due to the lack of contrast.) I also think it might have more interest if there was some way to bring more attention to the reflection of the boat. Just my .02 and I hope it is helpful.
I really like this picture. Simple, yet shows meaning. Only complaint...the water could be a little more interesting. Too bad there was a breeze when you were taking this picture. 8
