A cute photo of an adorable little boy - yet misses the mark as far as making wood a major element. The boy and the brightness of the sky showing through trees is what catches my eye first most - the wood is simply a small element that the child is posed upon. As far as technical eval: the DOF is perfect in my opinion. I would have tried to tone down the brightness of the sky, and not cropped the top so closely (unless of course it would have brought more of the bright sky into play)Focus is nice and sharp. Colors are right on.
Technically, this is a sound image. Its in focus, the lighting is okay, composition okay. But I honeslty don't see wood as an important component in this image. 4
