would have liked this one either zoomed out so full flower shown, or zoomed in more for a closer macro type shot.,.,, just seems like its not working for me at the distance it is...

Good flower shot. The Even lighting is very pleasant on this photo. The composition is a little odd. Centered flower doesn't work too well IMHO. Edges of petals look like too much sharpening was applied also.

Since the center is your main "event" of the shot, maybe zoom in on it for a true macro. As you did it, I'd bring up the colors more and really give it some POW. If you had some area on one side or at the top or bottom, it wouldn't appear as such a target, and be a bit more interesting to the eye.

ouch- I think you might have oversharpened, but such a good start... the purple and yellow work especially well.

dull colours and weird cropping here. the centre of the flower doesnt catch my attention neither.
