Personally, I don't care for this picture. The bark is in focus, but the sap, which seems to be the main subject, is not. Nice idea, though.

this shot to me needs to be verticle, showing the drips as the subject.

This is probably not a very helpful comment, but this picture, for me, just doesn't have a 'grab' element. My feeling is that you don't have enough contrast here, or that the pic is overexposed.
