 This entry is of a Rose taken at the internationally famed Sir Thomas & Lady Dixon Horticultural Garden. When considering this challenge I expected most entries to consist of textures of a jagged and sharp nature. For this reason I have went for the opposite. This Rose appears to be soft, velvety and begs to be touched whilst it has obvious imperfections on the petals.

i think sharper focus would have brought out the textures better here. I would have prefered the composition to emphasize one or the other of the flowers and the color seems a bit over saturated

like the soft tones, but dislike the cropping. be it intentional or not, the dead rose on the background is distracting. edit: bumped to 7

It's a touch soft, no pun intended, but there you did capture some niece texture there.
