 This is what is left of the Whale Rock Lighthouse. During the hurricane of 1936, the lighthouse was ripped off it's foundation. Keeper Walter Eberle lost his life trying to keep the light going to provide safe passage for any boats in the area. It's a fascinating story. Check out this web page:
