You had much more guts than I ever would of had. When my brother died I was afraid to touch him...could not do it. Hell after I saw him in the morgue I had horrible nightmares for several nights. Too many scary movies or something more subconscious...who knows. I applaud in having the courage to do this, especially during such a heartwrenching time.
That being said, you will resonate with it because of the context. It is personal to you. You have a lifetime to build context. I do not. Max, I gave this image 3.4 seconds. Unfair? Certainly!
Make it personal for me and I'll give you 30 more seconds and a better score.
I think that looking at the views during voting in comparison to the number of votes, your image was a success whether or not the overall score reflected it.
I'm not quite sure what to do with this photo. This is the 5th time that I've looked at it. It's kinda morbid and has nothing to do with "family" until you read the title. Exposure & focus are good, Composition is very interesting. This is really freaky but I keep coming back to it....
WOW! Intimate! It is wonderful that you could use your camera to capture such a momentous moment in the fabric of a family ( where few would dear to tread).
It won't be everybody's cup of tea, but this is a superb photo. Emotionally and viscerally it grabs you and the hell with technical details. Bravo. Quite an accomplishment.
Not sure what tosay. I don't want to offend anyone, so let's just say i don't think this meets the challenge very well, nor that it is technically well executed.
surely hope they were not his last...interesting take on the challenge...a bit morbid.
Technically the shot was well done as it goes for lighting, focus, and composition.
