Very cool shot and a great macro at that in regards to the detail. It's too bad the fly was dead (just a guess) when the photograph was taken because if it was alive the green eyes would have really popped out and captured the viewers attention. Guess they don’t like to sit still too long for a macro shot like this ;-)
I like the way you composed this and you did manage to get quite close. I gave you a good score but would have scored higher if this had really been pin sharp.
6 - Potential. For me, too dirty. Needs finer focus. Maybe a brighter background, or more of that which is there. Not sure if it is dead or not but, doesn't look too good.
I tried this same shot but thought the dust on the eyes would give away the fly
was dead and might get marked down for it. I know how tough this shot was to
take so I'm scoring it high.
