I hadn't seen this in your portfolio before Mark, but this is a stunning shot and you deserved your ribbon. The IR effect is superb in this

You're a gun. Simply a gun.

Woo hoo! Great finish for something so off-the-wall; my kinda shot!

I do a lot of infrared but i've never been able to get the sky to look like that. how did you get the sky so blue?
Post actions
Very awesome photograph. It was one of my favorites also. One question though. I don't understand IR photography very much, but how did you get the color in the sky with an IR filter?
Post actions
Wins the day. Great infrared. Congratulations on your Red.

Weird placing.. as far as I know, boats are far from obsolete... broken ones may not *work*... but.

Congrats. This was one of the ones I rated highest. It has everything unique - but with all the qualities worthy of a winner.

Bumping you up from a 4 to a 5. It's very nice, but the infrared has been overdone in the last few challenges IMHO.

Lovely as always! Beautiful clouds, great angle.

There are quite a few things I don't like individually with this image but somehow the overall impact overcomes them all. In the end it is among my top picks. Good luck in the voting.

This is a really cool shot. My husband looked at it while I was voting and said it reminded him of the effects in the movie Gladiator where Russell Crowe is walking through the fields as he is dying. Nice job.

The perspective of the boat, against the blue sky really lends a lot to this image. I am a big fan. What is more obsolete that a boat in the desert (or at least it looks like desert). 10.

The more I look at this one the more I like it. Upping my vote to a 9.

this is a neat photo. I would like to see the color version or a B&W version to tone down the white of the foliage. other than that great! 7

You have it. The contrast is great for the boat and sky. The grass?
Post actions
I'm not sure of the use of infrared but interesting none the less.
Post actions
Interesting, but I prefer color to snowy looking grass and vegation. The sky looks purple this way as well. Cool boat - might have worked well in sepia or b/w if you wanted to be different?
Post actions
The infrared really adds to the desolation feel. Nice job. 8
