I sincerely hope people understand the title because I really didn't want to name it 'Obsolete Plant'. Some may not get it and think it doesn't meet the challenge but I love the image either way. hmmm... maybe I should re-title?
So anyway, I was thinking all week obsolete... obsolete. Couldn't come up with anything original- looked up obsolete in the thesaurus and saw dinosaur! I wanted to do a full dinosaur skeleton but I knew I wouldn't get to the museum this weekend, so here it is- a plant that is now obsolete.

I like your photo, but I'm curious about the title? How is seeing a fossilized plant evidence of natural selection? It's certainly evidence of something, but natural selection?
OK, Darwin, here you go:
you would have done much better if you didn't hold the fossil in your hand. You have seriously blown highlights near your little finger, and I don't believe that it was intentional. Maybe placing the subject in some sort of natural environment would have been better? This way the hand takes too much of an attention from the main subject - the fossil imprint. 5.
