I took this very early in the morning from the Waterloo Jubilee footbridge with the 100-400 lens.
The wheel was still (no-one else awake) and the sun was low with a clear blue sky.
Because the wheel si a very stark white structure I wanted to exagerate this in the b/w conversion.
I'm not sure what these are, but they look too cool! Title is perfect, for that is what they look like. :)
I would love to see not such starkness to the white structure. Read your comment about why you exagerated this, personally though, would like that part more muted, so that the pods stand out even further.
Will have to look up what these are, they really are too cool. :)
This is a nice study of the London Eye pods and I like the high contrast black and white treatment. I find the sky a touch too dark - is that down to a polarising filter?
i really enjoy this shot. it's got great lines and structure and really blends itself to b/w.
it seems that the top half is a bit dark and the bottom half is a big bright. part of that might be the available lighting, but it does seem to be an abrupt shift from dark to light and it's a bit jarring. i think too the whiteness of the structure takes away from the pods themselves which i feel are really the subject.
composition and cropping are excellent. i love stuff cut off on one side or the other. :)
Very nice image, especially in B&W I imagine... could you post the original coloured one for comparison? I am curious to see what you posted instead of this one!
