I make my living primarily in portraiture. This is a fine portrait. It is the revelatory style, which is a "warts and all" type of shot (as opposed the the "best you can hope to look" type of edit-worked image.) There are many women (and a growing number of men) who would not like to be seen so intimately as this young lady has allowed. Your model has great skin, but shooting in tight like this with high contrast means any blemish will be shouting back to the viewer if this style is used for a more flawed lady or man. But the honesty displayed here is a terrific tool for the expressive photographer. It just requires a VERY willing subject and a trusting bond between the two. This would print great as a 12X14 ..... just great! Good work. |
