I understand the fantasy concept of their never being peace in this world, and it is depicted by the guns and war toys in the trash can. I really appreciate the flower stuck in the gun barrel. I guess what bothers me the most about the photo, is that it is shot in a setting that makes me wonder, "Why is there a trash can in the middle of a field?" I would really think that this would need to be placed in an urban setting to get the most impact from the photo. A smaller DOF would also be helpful to focus the attention on the can and guns, instead of on the bright (and interesting) grasses and flowers in the background.
Dont we wish! Nice sentiment, the guns are hard to see, I wish the one with the flower was placed so it stood out more. I like the sunrise metaphor - a new day dawning on peace.
