I do appreciate all the helpful comments. As to how I took this photograph, I had to be very still and creep very slowly. At one point I can distinctly remember a definate neck & arm pain as I was stretching my camera out as far as I could reach. Evidentally, this dragonfly was determined to be in that particular spot as it didn't move. As for color saturation, it is as from the lens. I agree on the under-exposure comment and I did my best to correct this without changing the color contrast.
Darn, you just missed out on my expected top-10. But then again 6,9 would usually land you within the top-5! It's an incredible shot, keep them coming!
the brightness of the green and the detail on the bug do it for me..those wings! unreal focus, teeny tiny bit soft but still detailed. Very well done! I just bumped this to a 10. :)
