how would you like to go through life like that?! Sorry - I saw this image and had to comment. Its like Jimmy Durante's nose on steroids! My god what an ugly bird. One of those so ugly its cute in a weird sort of way. I had to look it up. Poor bird! Anyway. You got my attention. Unique in all of challenge. Focus, crop, colors all excellent. Honestly, the only thing I really find lacking is POV which hurts your composition. I am taking into consideration that this is NOT a posed studio shot (maybe zoo but they're still wild animals) and you can't control the situation. Lighting is great. The emotional impact outweighs the pov for me in this case. 9 - good luck in the challenge!
The focus on the bird's eye and beak seems rather soft. An angle which accentuated rather than minimized his face would have made the photo more interesting.
