This really is a beautiful image, but it invokes the 5 of Wands to me. There is conflict, battle, war, aggression. Were I to attach a series of keywords to the whole, decision would not come to mind. I cannot critique the composition, it is to me flawless and finessed, the border strange, but not at all distracting to me. I cannot however place this image among the ranks of those images that told me a story of decision in a more clear manner. I can only offer a 4.
I like the colors/tones of this. It's like everything's faded with time since this took place. Love being able to see the one man's face, too bad there's not more of them visible. Adds a lot of emotion and interest to the piece. Not quite sure about the border...on some shots it works and I'm undecided whether this is one of them.
Amazing shot that looks like it belongs in a movie - which is enhanced by your border selection. I like how the colours have been desaturated, but not completely. It gives it that 'dirty' look.
I like this photo very much. I have been holding off on judging it because I just don't know how it fits with the challeng so here I go trying to make sense of it all.
Artistic...............7 I like all the activity in the frame and how the whole frame is being used. Lots of strong lines moving my eyes and keeping me interested
Technical......7 The overall exposure of the image is very balanced, no real big problems in seeing detail in the lightest or darkest areas. Photo doesn't seem to have come from a digital camera, believe me this is a plus as I don't like images that are over processed or photos that have focus that is "hyper".
Meets challenge description....this is the one I have been trying to deal with for the past few days with this image.....My first response to this image was that I didn't see anybody in this photo making any decision, it appears that this is one of those mindless acts of "group think", that all these worriers are just pushing foreward because the other guy in front of him was told to go foreward so if he goes I will follow.....I suppose that is a decision.....so you get a ....6 for meeting the challenge.
Average 6 but I'll push you up to 7 because I haven't seen anything in this challenge that has this subject or quality combined......
Photo seems a bit out of context, but I like it - the muted colors, the clear image of a time when there are no clear images to remember it by, and finally, the general push of focus towards the top middle of the frame. Why are they all converging though - seems more like a pep rally?
I don't feel that the image conveys instantly recognizable decision. Great pic... i want to give it an 8 for quality, but I can't... I just don't feel a decision in the picture... This is by far one of my favorite photos on the site though. Wow. Still love it.
wow this picture is cool. where did u take it. did u get a whole load of m en to dress up for you. but i like the color toning in this picture. its great.
This is a really interesting, expertly shot photo. I don't see too much of a connection to a decision, but I'm sure there is one -- it's probably just me not seeing it -- but I would never vote an awesome picture like this down just because I don't see it. It's really a neat picture!! 8
love the tones in this one. Sharp, clear, well composed. not liking the uneven border. Don't care for borders at all but that's my problem. I have to say again, I love the tones/colors of this image. Beautifully done! 9 - Good luck in the challenge!
i will give you a good score because of the sheer quality of capture. BUt, how does this really apply. Imagine no title, and could I see a decision being made no. I see a bunch old men playing dress up. But again, it is great and I love the color and action. Not the border though.
