I place a cut out picture into the canning jar with Red Hots. Although the data below says fluorescent, I used a 125 watt studio light. I had accidentally left the fluorescent setting on though. DUH! I tweaked the color in PS and increased contrast a bit. I also used unsharp mask. I wanted the picture to have a dreamlike quality. Initially I had the figure in the Red Hots on the table, but it was too crisp...I sought a more dreamy effect, so I thought of the Ball Mason jar. I took a few, but I liked this one best.

Fits The Challenge-Yes,
Composition-Nice, creative, inventive idea
Background-Good.
My Opinion-is just about that of the majority below. Great idea, great execution, but a bit OOF. For me personally I wish I could of seen the toes. Silly but feel they are chopped off. This was a good inventive idea, your really thinking up some good set ups. Nice. I like it, it was a good shot. Average vote was very good. Your extra efforts really show in your work. Keep on keepin' on!
If this were focused on the right things: the leg and candy instead of the metal jar part, this would be such a great image. Really creative and fun idea!
Clever idea. However the main focal point is on the glass jar closest to the camera. Everything else is unsharp. A smaller aperture may have taken care of this.
Really neat idea! Focus seems strongest on the leading edge of the jar, IMHO it should be on the picture of the lady and the red-hots. Great color! I like the framing of this photo. 6 Swash
Very cool idea but you should have DEFENITELY focused on the girl and red "hot tamilis" instead of the jar, since the jar isn't really the subject. Very creative anyway, 8.
It looks like you focused on the jar - while interesting, perhaps focusing on the leg and candies would be better, since that's where our attention is going. Excellent shot anyways. Cutout?
