After trying (and eating) 2 packages of Strawberries, I was going to bail on this.
Last minute - BINGO - went and got my hand REALLY dirty in the waste oil drainer, ran it around in the metal shavings from my brake lathe, popup flash, click.
Then had to go wash (I wear latex gloves so my hands never get like this) before PP.
15 minutes later, I was back to work, with gloves on - LOL.

I thought this was the single strongest image that did not feature faces in the challenge. Gritty, "real" and complete with enviable sharpness and focus. It's black and white, and metallic all at the same time.
I can almost feel the grease, those little metal bits...the smell of a machine shop...beautiful image, really nice tonality,,and completely excellent texture, just really nicely made. 10
Only someone who has been introduced in some way to the machinist's world can appreciate the feel and smells that come through this image. But even the tool making uninitiated can appreciate the fine photography skills used to capture this image. My top pick for this challenge and a favorite.
The metal filings and the timeworn hand work well together in this shot. It is perfect in black and white; I like the granular look to the pieces and the dropping of some off the right of the hand...8
Very crisp image that tells a story. This looks to ba difficult shot that you made look so easy. The details are amazing and the lighting and contrast are great 10.
ummm wow. I love the b/w tones. the hand shows so much detail...amazing. Is that metal shavings? Good luck on the challenge, you've got my vote for a ribbon.
