Looks perhaps like a shot taken during a play or performance of some sort. I think the harsh lighting works given the subject matter and mood. The red and black dress makes this eye popping.

This is a very enjoyable photo, nice colors, excellent composition and the lighting is used to great advantage. I hope you do not get many does not meet challenge comments. Fits very well to my eye.
