 While the subject matter is not specifically something granular, I thought that the sand as the focal point amongst the pebbles being ground away by the water may appeal to someone. Hopefully the title will help put it in context of the challenge.

the dof would work well for this shot if the closest objects were in focus instead of the middle ones. bumping up anyway

Nice, but I would have left the macro off because it has such a short DOF. Good concept and lighting though.

I think it would have worked better if you cropped out hte water in the background.

I like the stones against the sand and the coloring is very nice but I don't think it benefits from the 'tilt'. Leveled and shot in landscape with a bit more contrast and this would be much stronger -- for this viewer. Also, the shallow DOF works well here ...
