I actually thought of trying something like this also... was going to take a picture of the water running down my roof vallies but figured I'd kill myself and break my camera doing it. :)
Try doing it bare-footed for more grip. But then again, do it at your own risk! :)
Nice abstract idea. Needs a bit tighter focus. Not sure on the cropping either. Maybe leaving out the top part? The angle is hard to look at , at first. But able to tell the way they flow after looking. Maybe the angle of the shot for the middle tiles to appear as the ones in the top right. Would give more sense of depth and size.
