I had to decide between this shot and another, I hope I made the right choice.
Editing:
I just used all the basic editing procedures in Adobe Photoshop; levels, curves, sat, hue, brightness, contrast, selective colour, and so on.
Border was then added in Microsoft Photodraw, and saved for web in Microsoft Paint.

Very striking, other-wordly feel to this. I like the color and I think the border adds to the photo (even though I would bet some are complaining about it).
Very mysterious, I really like this point of view. Beautiful texture. It might have been nice to show more of the seeds, maybe make a vertical composition and include more of the core.
