 Cut out quarter of an Empire Apple put on Mirror and Photographed in various angles with a +2 macro filter.
This one gave the most texture.

I see this a mirror but the angle doesn't work for me ..it's awkward to look at. I do think your light is a bit weak and the main white of the apple is a bit grey looking.
Just my 2cents on this entry.
