The color was achieved by only slightly desaturating the image, and the light was coming through a window curtain.

This is just lovely. The softness is not overdone but compliments the serene expression on her face. The overall tone is subdued, yet natural. The folds of her arms and hands make a nice frame to her face. The lighting is soft and glowing. Wonderful!!!
